Established in 1997, Mid-UK Recycling are a leading waste management company with a proven record of working with businesses and local authorities to achieve a genuine 100% landfill diversion.

In June 2019 the Company was acquired by the Beauparc Utility Group and became New Earth Solutions (West) Ltd.

We are looking for a Banksman to join our team at Barkston (near Grantham).

This is a hands-on Banksman role which will require an enthusiastic individual who is self-motivated, but also able to follow instructions and is keen to learn, in a fast paced, dynamic environment, within the Waste Management Sector.

Key aspects of the role include:

  • Promoting and ensuring all Health & Safety policies and procedures are followed
  • Directing vehicle movement and controlling the traffic flow within a work area
  • Guiding drivers and operators of vehicles and mobile plant, where they need assistance during work operations
  • Ensuring that material meets the specifications required as directed by the Site Manager and Quality Control
  • Utilising their understanding of the risk assessment to identify if it is or isn’t safe to proceed with an operation, and to report any issues
  • Using an agreed and clear system of signalling to direct the driver or operator
  • Keeping the area free from others while operations are underway, such as workers and pedestrians
  • Contributing towards the efficient running of the operation
  • Performing other duties as the Company may from time to time reasonably require

Skills / Experience:

  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Sound knowledge of Health and Safety
  • Self-motivated, flexible and adaptable
  • Knowledge of transport methods
  • Physical skills like movement, coordination and dexterity
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions
  • Ability to carry out basic tasks on a computer and tablet
  • Previous Banksman experience may be useful, however full training will be provided

There will be a requirement for occasional travel between local sites, therefore a full driving licence and own transport is essential.
